It’s essential for your dog’s health, comfort and safety that they have a properly fitting collar. There are currently no industry standards for dog collar sizes or even standards for how to measure your dogs neck. Luckily, fitting one is an easy job: we show you how.

Step1

Choose the type of the collar you need.

Buckle collar

The buckle collar is great for everyday use, such as holding ID tags and perhaps for general walking and training purposes.

Martingale collar

Martingale Collars make the best safety collar for dogs. Perfect for puppies and rescues that can back out of regular buckle collars. Many prefer a martingale for better control on leash, as they help distract from pulling. Well-fitted martingale collars are perfect also for the city walks.
Note: Because the loop can get caught on objects, this collar should only be on the dog under supervision, not left on all the time.

Step2

Have your dog sit in front of you. Using a soft tape measure or piece of string do the following:

A and BLoosely measure the neck where the collar would normally sit sliding two fingers between the dog's neck and measuring tape

C: From the top of the dog’s throat, over the ears to top of head (this is the size of the actual head).

For martingale type collars take the neck and head sizes (A, B and C) Order a collar that will fall within this range of measurements.

For buckle type collars take the neck sizes (A and B) and see if it fits within one of our standard size ranges.

Step3

Now that you know the size of collar you need, choose from our most popular martingale collar or a side release safety buckle collar.
